Just to add my 10 cents in case its of interest to others.

My RPi is running minimserver successfully and it is completely stable. My flac library of c. 25k files is on a USB hard drive - the pi is connected by wired cable to the router. All my files are 16/44 so I am not able to comment on high resolution issues, if any. The Pi is running samba as well, so the library is shared via samba to sonos, and via minimserver to tablets and phones running bubbleupnp.

So far the only thing I miss is search on the server side, which I hope will come some day.

That day is not far away....

Quote:My open question is what to use as renderers in future. i realise this is not within the scope of MinimServer, but it is relevant to my future use. I would like to use something cheap and simple as a renderer - like another Pi - rather than have to buy more Sonos.

See this post for some Pi-based options.

Thanks...looking forward to that.

I will follow up on the renderer options too.

I want to install an OS with MinimServer and XBMC integrated on my SD card for a ra pi. I am not so a Linux Hero. So is there anyway a ready to use working package ?

There is no such package and anyone distributing such a package would be violating the MinimServer license terms.

It is very easy to install MinimServer on the Raspberry Pi by following the instructions on this page.

Hello Simon, is there a possibility to install Minimserver on a Pi headless only?
Issues for me are downloading the serversoftware and copying to the right folder.

Thanks and regards

Ernst

You can use the headless Linux installation instructions (see this page).
